Exchange of experience between Ukraine and Kosovo on post-conflict reconstruction

Exchange of experience between Ukraine and Kosovo on post-conflict reconstruction

A socially important project implemented by CENSS’ own resources.

Project implementation period: November 2024.

1-2

After large-scale hostilities that caused significant damage to both Ukrainian society and state institutions, the issues of recovery, reintegration, and ensuring sustainable peace are becoming particularly relevant. Kosovo, which has its own experience of emerging from conflict, forming peaceful institutions, and building effective post-war governance, can serve as an important example for Ukraine. It was precisely the need to use practical cases of post-conflict development and institutional transformation that formed the basis for organizing the workshop “Conflict, Settlement, and Recovery: Kosovo’s Experience and Ukraine’s Prospects,” initiated by the Center for Security Studies “CENSS” in cooperation with the Kosovo Center for Security Studies (KCSS).

The aim of the event was to study Kosovo’s experience in post-war recovery processes and adapt effective practices to the Ukrainian context. The workshop contributed to the development of new approaches to disarmament and reintegration in Ukraine.
