Methodological recommendations on organizing activities (work) of the Assistants to the veterans in local communities and interaction with stakeholders
The project is implementing in partnership with Ministry of Veterans Affairs and within the framework of the project “Local Self-Government and the Rule of Law in Ukraine” implemented by the Folke Bernadotte Academy (FBA) during 2014-2023 with the financial support from Sweden.
Project implementation period: August 2023 – February 2024.
The methodological recommendations are designed to provide practical advice for the work of assistants to veterans in the community and interaction with stakeholders. The recommendations were approved by the Order of the Ministry of Veterans Affairs of December 15, 2023, No. 334 as part of the implementation of a pilot project to introduce the institution of an assistant to veterans in the system of transition from military service to civilian life, approved by the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine of June 19, 2023, No. 652.
In 2024, the introduction of the institution of an assistant to veterans was not only continued but also scaled up to the entire territory of Ukraine, as providing support to veterans in the system of transition from military service to civilian life is a complex and important process. The Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine of June 19, 2023, No. 652, which regulated the implementation of the experiment on the introduction of the institute of an assistant to veterans, does not apply to the introduction of the institute of an assistant to veterans in 2024. At the same time, the approaches and tips for organizing the work of assistants to veterans in the community and interacting with stakeholders set out in these Methodological recommendations remain relevant and can be used in the activities of specialists in supporting veterans and demobilized persons.
