In 2023, the Executive Director of CENSS, Viktoria Voronina, was involved in the development of a model for assisting those affected by explosive remnants of war within the framework of UNDP activities in Ukraine.

Her task as an expert for UNDP was to develop a comprehensive model based on the adaptation of international experience, the International Mine Action Standard IMAS 13.10, an analysis of over 50 regulatory documents, and the study of the situation in 6 de-occupied communities.

The model takes into account existing resources and the communities’ capacity for implementation, allowing it to be applied in full or in parts depending on local conditions.

The model organizes assistance to those affected by explosive remnants across 17 areas, including:

– Risk education for explosive hazards

– Provision of medical assistance

– Psychological support

– Rehabilitation

– Education

– Economic and social inclusion

The model also includes a description of each component, identification of stakeholders for interaction, a checklist for assessing the situation in each community based on these elements, and recommendations for implementation by local government authorities.

The full version of the model is available at the following link: https://www.undp.org/…/Model-Advocacy-Mine-Action.pdf https://www.undp.org/…/Model-Advocacy-Mine-Action.pdf.
