The prolonged existence of the Transnistrian region of the Republic of Moldova as a territory with an unresolved political and security status poses complex challenges to regional stability and security in Eastern Europe. The combination of the Russian Federation’s military presence, the region’s dependence on external economic and energy support, information influence, and socio-economic imbalances creates the conditions for continued controlled tension and potential crisis scenarios. Limited access to reliable analytical information on the dynamics of processes in the region complicates the formation of effective response policies and risk forecasting.

With this in mind, the project envisages the launch of systematic analytical monitoring of the security situation in the Transnistrian region through the preparation and publication of monthly digests. The initiative aims to comprehensively study political processes, the military-security environment, the economic and energy situation, social trends and public sentiment, as well as information and hybrid threats. The project involves the collection and analysis of data from open sources, expert assessments, and international reports, which allows for the formation of a comprehensive analytical picture of the situation in the region.

The goal of the project is to raise awareness among the expert community, government agencies, the public sector, and international partners about security trends in the Transnistrian region of the Republic of Moldova, as well as to strengthen the capacity to identify risks in a timely manner and make informed managerial and political decisions aimed at strengthening regional security and stability.
