From February 16-18, 2024, the annual security conference took place in Munich, Germany. On the air of the “Pramy” TV channel, the Chairman of the Board of CENSS, Vadym Chernysh, shared his analysis of the statements made during the conference.
Here are the main conclusions of the security expert, Vadym Chernysh, regarding the statements made during the event:
- Europe is not yet in a position to help Ukraine to the extent that the United States can. This conclusion is echoed by nearly all European leaders, not only political leaders but also thought leaders and those leading think tanks, opinion factories, etc. In other words, Europe cannot provide the level of support that would ensure Ukraine’s victory and Russia’s defeat.
- There are doubts about whether the United States can currently resolve the issue.
Even if the U.S. government manages to pass this package of aid, the arrival of the conservative pro-Trump wing to power could lead to a shift in the United States’ approach to prioritizing the European continent.
- Pessimistic conclusions for Ukraine:
- we are part of Europe, but we are at war
- and there is no one to help us at the level we would like.
- Europe itself, especially small countries bordering Russia, feels the threat in case there is a political shift in the United States.
