Conflicts between central and local authorities: what are the consequences for the state?

It became clear long before the open speeches of mayors in March that relations between the central government on the one hand and local government on the other were not simple. At the briefing, dedicated to the year of the presidency, Volodymyr Zelensky announced it publicly.

Over the past few months, the tension between central and local authorities has obtained the highest scale. Why did the mayors start openly oppose the presidential and government decisions? What can this situation lead to in autumn during local elections and how does it threaten Ukraine’s integrity and state system? Experts from the Center for Security Studies “CENSS” have analyzed how relations between local and central authorities have developed over the past year.

Russia’s “Humanitarian Aid”, or what the Russian military personnel are doing in Europe

At the beginning of May 2020, the Russian Federation took the sixth position among the countries of the world in terms of the number of infected persons with COVID-19, there were 155 000. Вадим Черниш про причини та загрози акцій протесту підприємців у регіонах

Як підприємці домоглися відкриття ринків в Україні: історія протистояння

29 квітня Кабінет Міністрів України пішов на поступки підприємцям і під тиском численних акцій протесту дозволив роботу продовольчих та аграрних ринків. Вимагати послаблення карантину з 1 травня під будинок уряду прийшли представники малого бізнесу, що вперше за час карантину наважились протестувати у столиці. Втім, їх вимоги поки виконувати не планують. Акція закінчилась штовханиною з поліцією та спробами змусити людей розійтись. Зрештою уряд повідомив про відкриття аграрних та продовольчих ринків по всій території України, які зможуть функціонувати в тому ж режимі, що і супермаркети. Тобто з дотриманням жорстких санітарних норм. За порушення таких норм пообіцяли суворо карати, аж до закриття. Детальніше
